
Evaluation of Overseas Qualifications

This Law School is authorised by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board to evaluate overseas legal qualifications. Evaluations should be undertaken in the Australian state in which the applicant plans to be admitted to the legal profession.
The certification of documents must be completed by a Justice of the Peace or specifically appointed government official. Documents must be provided in English. If the documents have been translated into English, they must be accompanied by an appropriate certification. All these documents must be forwarded to:
The evaluation takes approximately four weeks to be completed, but may take up to six weeks at university peak admission times. Applicants are sent a letter which clearly states what academic requirements need to be completed by them for admission in Queensland. Following notification of the evaluation results, applicants may apply to study the required courses at The University of Queensland or apply to study the equivalent courses at another Queensland University. This study will fulfil the academic requirements to practise law in Queensland. Students must also complete the practical requirements to be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner.
