Paul O'Shea is a Senior Lecturer at the TC Beirne School of Law where he teaches and researches in Commercial Law, Consumer Law and Financial Services Regulation. His latest publication is a chapter on "Regulatory Powers and Consistency" in Consumer Law and Policy in Australia and New Zealand published by Federation Press. A graduate of the UQ Law School, Paul has been a commercial litigation solicitor for 23 years, a member of the Banking and Finance Committee of the Queensland Law Society for 18 years and is currently a member of the Investment Panel of the Financial Ombudsman's Service.
Paul has published a book, The Legal Environment of Business for Thomson Law Book Co, written numerous articles in academic and professional journals, contributed chapters on consumer law to other books and presented many papers at national conferences and for the Queensland Law Society's Continuing Professional Development program. His research into pre-contractual disclosure in consumer credit was cited by the Commonwealth Government in support of its recent amendments to the National Consumer Credit Protection Act.
