Persons who are found to be victims of trafficking in Australia have access to a number of government support services. These services are provided under the so–called VoTCare Program (the Victims of Trafficking Care Program), which assists those victims who are willing and able to assist government agencies in criminal investigations of trafficking cases. Once a victim of trafficking has been identified by the authorities, their ability to remain lawfully in Australia depends on the granting of either a Criminal Justice Visa or a Protection Visa. Furthermore, victims of trafficking can get support from a range of community groups and non–government organisations.
Relevant support mechanisms and visa options are outlined on this site.
