Marine and Shipping Law Unit (MASLU)
MASLU - City Cat outside Customs House Brisbane, 2004

MASLU promotes teaching and research in all aspects of maritime law and the law of the sea. We provide the legal community, law students, and the marine and shipping industries with detailed information and specialist expertise relating to developments in, and the application of, maritime law. MASLU's role also includes liaising with other marine centres in multi-disciplinary projects, and liaising with legal and marine scholars from around the world.

Throughout the year, MASLU offers a number of courses and seminars dealing with a great variety of legal topics. Students can enroll in MASLU courses either as part of a postgraduate degree at the University of Queensland or any other recognized university, or on a 'once-off' basis through the Executive Education and Professional Development program.

Dr Sarah Derrington is the Director of MASLU. The MASLU community also includes a number of other lecturers, scholars and visiting academics. Explore our website to find out more about MASLU's upcoming events, our staff and scholars, and how to enrol in our courses.
