A team from the TC Beirne School of law has taken out the School’s second mooting title in as many months, claiming victory in the Asia Pacific Rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot.
The team of Alexander Meaney (BA/LLB), Breanna Hamilton (BBusMan/LLB) and Rola Lin (BCom/LLB) competed against 38 teams from across the region in Sydney last week and defeated the team from Murdoch University in the grand final.
This victory comes after a UQ team took out the national final of the Philip C Jessup International Law Moot in February.
On an individual level, Breanna Hamilton ranked second on average scores from more than 50 advocates in the preliminary rounds.
The victory in the Space Moot now qualifies the team for entry into the World Finals to be held in India in September.
Dr Jonathan Crowe of the TC Beirne School of Law said the team members were grateful for the support of the School’s Mooting Program sponsors, Allens Arthur Robinson, Dibbs Abbott Stillman and Minter Ellison.
