 TC Beirne School of Law's First Co-tutelle a Success

PhD Candidate and MASLU Research Scholar, Mr Pierre-Jean Bordahandy, recently completed the requirements for the award of a PhD from The University of Queensland and from the University of Aix-Marseilles, France. Mr Bordahandy was jointly enrolled at the two institutions pursuant to a co-tutelle. He was supervised by Associate Professor Sarah Derrington and Professor Edgar Gold of MASLU and Professor Christian Scapel, Maître de conferences à la Faculté de droit et de science politique d’Aix-Marseilles.

Mr Bordahandy was required to satisfy the examination requirements of both Universities which included an oral defence before a panel of four which was held in Aix-en-Provence on 20 December 2006.

Mr Bordahandy, now a lecturer at the University of Adelaide, intends to publish his thesis, “The Concept of the Container and its Legal Implications,” in French.
