The Law Council of Australia's European Focus Group and the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law (CPICL), TC Beirne School of Law at The University of Queensland, are proud to host ‘The Future of Federalism Conference’ to be held at the Stamford Plaza, Brisbane from 10 - 12 July 2008.
The Conference will bring together an international panel of experts to discuss the major challenges and opportunities for federal systems and to share ideas and experiences. The contributions will include critical discussions from Australian, German, European Community, US and Canadian perspectives.
“This conference is an invaluable opportunity to study the phenomenon of federalism, its advantages and difficulties, its laws and practices. Papers by distinguished scholars ensure a stimulating encounter with problems confronting many of today’s federations,” said the Hon Sir Gerard Brennan, event patron.
High profile speakers include The Honourable Justice Margaret White, Supreme Court of Queensland; Professor Thomas Fleiner, Director, Centre for Federalism, Switzerland; and Professor Christina Murray, University of Cape Town.
This conference is highly recommended for those working in the legal profession, as well as politicians, researchers and academics, as well as anyone with an interest in politics and the law.
