The announcement of Anna Bligh’s new Cabinet has included three UQ law graduates.
Newly elected Member for Greenslopes, Cameron Dick, was appointed Attorney-General and Minister for Industrial Relations replacing former Attorney-General, Kerry Shine MP, who resigned on Tuesday. Mr Dick completed bachelor degrees in Law and Commerce, and later a Bachelor of Arts degree, at The University of Queensland.
Inala MP, Annastacia Palaszczuk, was appointed Minister for Disability Services and Multicultural Affairs after serving as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Main Roads and Local Government. Ms Palaszczuk graduated from UQ with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1998, and is a former UQ Senator.
State Member for Lytton, Paul Lucas, was re-appointed as Deputy Premier of Queensland and given the new portfolio for Health. Mr Lucas holds bachelor degrees from UQ in Law and Economics.
