WORLD MARITIME DAY 2007:
ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES FOR SHIPPING:
AUSTRALIAN RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERESTS

World Maritime Day has been designated annually by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to focus on the importance of maritime transportation for the world and, at the same time, to highlight specific maritime issues with global, regional and national significance. In 2007 the IMO’s theme is ‘Environmental Challenges – Shipping. Australian Responsibilities and Interests ’. In Brisbane World Maritime Day 2007 will, once again be co-sponsored by the Marine and Shipping Law Unit, University of Queensland, and the Queensland Branch of the Nautical Institute.
